Lyric Poetry

The land is dying – no more life.
We must hold back the burden!
I will do my part, forsaking all,
I will deny a desire for children.
The eyes of God look down on man.
He sees his dire need:
To give, To build, To dream, To know.
All grown through godly seed.
His heart breaks at each folly,
For the Giver of Life has been stopped.
“We no longer want Your blessings!” they cry.
“We only want our lot!”
“Let us control the womb!” they challenge.

Lyric Poetry

Lowell H. Koons
...such a soft night as this,
alone on the deck behind our house,
no lights about
save a low-hanging moon,
near-spent for the night,
her waning light a wisp of yellow gauze
beyond the leafy marches of tree upon tree.
... now and then,
then again, and again,
gentle green pricks from fireflies blossom,
gliding in unctuous ease,
high and low among the trees,
making silent, no, holy light.
Crickets, cicadas, long since ceased their evensong...
dawn's dress rehearsal is hours away...

Adorable addition to the globe,
Bouncing ball of blissful unawareness,
Carefree, careless, cute and cuddle-friendly,
Dauntless in demanding for attention.
Egoist par excellence, enchanting,
Face of angel, facing unknown future,
Guarantor of growing generations
Happy little heap of helplessness.
Inspiration, interesting, idyllic,
Jester, joking with each joyful gesture.
King or Queen of Hearts, each game to win.
Living being, life-given being, God-given,
Managing director of the home,
Nonchalant nomad ...

As I slowly turn the pages of my baby book,
I feel a tear slide down my cheek – I take a closer look.
I see a mommy full of love, a daddy…so, so proud,
An echo of my baby heartbeat – strong and very loud.
I close my eyes just to feel their tender warm embrace,
As they gently trace the tiny features of my baby face.
I read about my “firsts” – first food, first step, first smile,
I see a clipping of my hair and pause for just awhile.
Recalling many memories, birthday parties and the ...

“You formed my inmost being;
You knit me in my mother's womb.”
Let me breathe the air outside, and allow me to bloom.
“How precious to me are your designs, O God;”
“I praise you, so wonderfully you made me;”
Your Perfect Love is complete, with the help of my family.
Created me in the Image of God;
“Wonderful are your works!”
I’m special! Unique! --- No matter what my quirks!
“My very self you knew;
My bones were not hidden from ...

Before you make that final choice,
Hear the sound of another voice.
Your unborn baby’s cry,
Please Mommy don’t let me die.
Think of all the things you’ll miss
Like me blowing you a kiss,
Or riding my first bike,
Don’t you wonder who I’ll look like?
Pre-Chorus:
Can you really afford to let me go?
And not see the child that God has sowed?

To feel the sunlight on my face
To run and laugh and play
To know the comfort of a hug
To look into your eyes and say
I love you mommy!
I'm asking for a chance.
To stay up late and read a book
To wish upon a falling star
To dream of things too big for words
To love the person that you are
Can I please mom?
I'm asking for a chance.
To feel the magic of my first kiss
To watch the moon rise in autumn's glory
To try my best in everthing
To write the chapters in my life's ...

Sixteen.
High school junior.
An A student.
“She’ll go far in life,”
They say.
The halls are her domain,
The students: her subjects.
She is their Queen.
She’s the captain of the soccer team
“The female Cristiano Ronaldo,
The next best thing after Messi,”
They say.
Until that day,
Months ago.
One too many parties attended.
One too many drinks imbibed.
One too many nights in a dark room.
Now she’s pregnant ...

It is not a child…
Wood foundations are not yet homes;
Burn them down and see the reaction.
Not yet…
Developing humans are equal in dignity to the Developed, Therefore, an adult may not opt
For the destruction of a teen.
Not until…
Head breaches womb, scalp makes contact with
The magic in the air, fetus transforms in to Baby?
Woman’s body, her choice…
Fetal body is attached, and separate, not Property. A conjoined twin cannot choose ...

Me and myself went for a walk.
Me and myself decided to talk.
We talked about much me and myself did.
We talked about people and other little kids.
We talked about Jesus and how he died.
We talked about on my first birthday and how my mom cried.
We talked about birds and how they sing.
We talked about Goosebumps and other scary things.
We talked about us and how we enjoy life.
We talked about deodorant just like old spice.
I am very glad I had this fun and joyful walk.
Now it is time for us not to talk.

Haiku Poetry
Written by:
Scott Moore
A broken heart shows,
shattered dreams becoming real;
A decision stands.
A seed growing deep
in a secret place knowing
Futures awakening.
A night of pleasure,
was not supposed to happen;
Life must continue.
Love becomming hatred,
lovelessness becomming love;
Lost souls crying out.
Voices are raging,
tears from confusion arrive;
Life, is on the line.
Suddenly stillness,
a brilliant light surrounding;
God's Spirit enters.

Known before I was yet conceived,
New life began to develop.
Teenagers practicing pleasures.
Caught, tenderly they envelop.
Mistakes are made by all of us.
Included God in my decision.
Give thanks for God is good.
Entrusted with new life position.
Future unsure, confidence abounds,
Hands held, pray for precious creation.
Parenting inevitable one day.
Commitment with determination.
Characters are formed by our journeys.
Tested and molded by life’s ...

Lyric Poetry
Written by:
Philip G. Ney
1. A helpless baby lay secure,
Within His mother’s womb.
It matters not His dad forgot,
To book a hotel room.
For God above, in constant love,
Will care for one and all.
Why then, you ask, do babies die?
While on great God they call?
2. Oh God above, since you are love,
How can you bear to see?
Your priceless children cruelly die?
I’m sure you hear their plea.
Since You are love, You will not wait,
Nor watch this evil rise.
Come in Your righteous fury, Lord.
