Sociologists say a social movement is created after a large number of people realize that there are others sharing the same value and desire for a particular social change. They go on to say that one of the main difficulties facing any emerging social movement is spreading the very knowledge that it exists. Therefore, the single best way a person can support the Manhattan Declaration movement is to help spread the word about it. With that in mind, here are some ways every person can support the Manhattan Declaration:
Pray fervently. Great movements of faith have always spread on the wings of prayer.
Know the issues. Study the Manhattan Declaration so you can winsomely explain and defend it to your neighbors and friends. The document itself makes a great apologetic defense for the three moral truths it addresses. A study guide is available here
Get your church involved. Ask your pastor to sign the Declaration and to use the sermon time to encourage your congregation to read and sign it. You can download forms to gather signatures here
Make full use of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking resources. Or just go to gatherings in your own community and speak out on this issue.
Organize local gatherings to discuss the Manhattan Declaration and the issues it addresses.
Speak about out in any public forum where you have the opportunity on the three issues addressed by the Manhattan Declaration and encourage your listeners to read and sign it.
Write letters to the editor on the Declaration and on the three issues it speaks to.
Make a donation to the Manhattan Declaration to support this website and our efforts to speak out on life, marriage, and religious liberty.
